This gravy is tall, dark and handsome.

My manager and I were chatting about some guys today.

Jamie: "Is he your type?"
Susie: "My type? I don't know."
Jamie: "You know...thick and kinda funny..."
Susie: "'Thick and kind of funny' sounds more like something you'd send back to the kitchen."

-----

I have a case of the sexy voice. I woke up with a cold a week ago, which quickly turned into bronchitis (thank you, my susceptible-to-inflammation lungs!) and kicked my trash.

Because of The Sickness (He and I are not one. He gets a name all his own.) I have discovered an amazing, amazing thing: going to bed before 10:30 pm. I found out that it means, get this, you get to sleep longer! Why has no one thrown this logic in my face?
'Hey Susannah, you enjoy sleep, right? Well what if I told you I know a way you can sleep THREE EXTRA HOURS A NIGHT and still wake up right before you have to leave for work? No, really! It's called Going To Bed Before 10:30. It is guaranteed to work."

I am a logical gal. Had I been privy to the kind of information maybe I would have been all over this years ago?

Ask me how do I feel from this chemistry lesson I'm learning

"So, who do you like?" The conversation starter of choice from ages 10-24. New friend or old bestie, same topic. Now that I am the ripe ol' age of 27 I don't get that one as much as the ever popular "So who can I set you up with?"

I often say "I don't date." which gets met with strangely sympathetic "Oh sure you do!"

Do I?

I will be the first to admit I do not realize when I'm on a date. I am oblivious to many things. Remember that time I left the voicemail on Sarah's phone that said, "Hey Sar, it's Sue. I think I'm on a date with a lesbian. I'll call you a later." yeah, totally true story.

(Not realizing I'm on a date is right up there with my being oblivious to when I'm being asked out. "Oh, its not cool that I invited my friend to come with us?")

Because every conversation, lesson in church and just about any question directed toward me involves dating I turned to my married co-worker and Dictionary.com to help me out here. (It's a slow night in the salon.)

What constitutes a date?
It says: A social appointment, engagement, or occasion arranged beforehand with another person.

She says: One-on-one getting to know someone.

Dad says: When you're together alone with a person.

I say: in that case I am dating a lot of people!

How does a date differ from hanging out with a friend?

Church says: Planned, paid for and paired off.

She says: Intent.

I say: I plan, pay for and pair off with no intent. This isn't helping!

What if it isn't clear whether or not it is intended to be a date?

She says: It should be made clear to both parties beforehand. If it isn't clear, treat it as such, but don't assume it is.

I say: 'Why are you acting so awkward?' 'I'm pretending, but not assuming, we are on a date.' Bwahaha!

----------

So, uh, yeah, IMHO I don't date.
"But why? Why, Susannah? Why are you not so pursued that you are busy every single night??"

I have no idea.

It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.

Jamie: "What about him?"
Suannah: "Nah, not my type."
Jamie: "What is your type, then?"
Susannah: "Umm, kinda like...me."
Jamie: "Like you? Your type is you?"
Susannah: "Yeah, sure, why not? I get along well with me; I like to hang out with me."

I am two months away from turning 27-years-old. (I know, right? Where did the time go?)
And that makes me especially susceptible to comments from, oh, just about everyone and anyone. Several times a day customers ask me if I'm married, and when I tell them I'm not they try to reassure me with things like, "It'll happen in due time." and "Don't worry, hon. You will. Just keep reminding yourself you're worth it."

Oh heavens.

I don't want/need your pity, thanks.

I have an awesome career, fun hobbies, great friends, and I'm planning fabulous vacations. I'm not sitting around, mopey, bitter.

Last week I had a customer who chastised me for being single, haha. She told me I have to start putting myself out there because if I don't I will never get married. Then she proclaimed, "Do you understand? YOU WILL BE ALL ALONE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE!"

Bwahahaha.

I love the phrase "put yourself out there." What does that even mean? It sounds like Jane Austen-y times when they present their daughter as being available to court.

My parents would tell me "put yourself out there" means I have to start being nice to guys. They are convinced I am rude to everyone around me. (Just because I, on occasion [ok, frequently], ask my father if I hurt his "widdow feewings" Hahahahaha.)

What are you saying? That you *gulp* want his bod?

What a fantastically exhausting day!

Seven and a half hours on my feet = Ouch! It has been slow around the salon lately so the constant flow of people yesterday was a bit of a shock to my legs.

Contrary to ...oh, just about everything everyone who has ever known me thinks, I am not much of a talker as a stylist. Not because I don't like to talk (we all know I like to talk), its just that I don't do small talk well. ("Its the new small talk; you do it so awfully well!" -name the movie.)

Every new client is like an awkward date. Dumb small talk, asking personal questions that I don't really want to answer, vocally wasting time until the haircut is finished.

Me: "So how is your day going?"
Them: "Pretty good so far, just finishing up some errands...yourself?"
Me: "Pretty good." (this is usually a lie.)
Them: "How long have you worked here?"
Me: "I've been at this location about a week."
Them: "A week?!"
Me: "I was at a Sandy location before that."
Them: "Oh. So how long have you been doing hair?"
Me: "Since 2006." (Uh...ok, so I started school in September of '06...I've been licensed for a year. I'm not about to tell them that.)
Them: "Oh, ok, so you know what you're doing?"
Me: "Yes. I know what I'm doing."
Them: "So are you from Provo?"
Me: "I'm from Orem."
Them: "What high school did you go to? Orem?"
Me: "Yeah."
Them: "Do you know any Andersons?"

And so on...

I'm not so much a fan of working in Provo because everyone seems to know someone I know. Yesterday several of my clients work with Meridith's high school friends. My second-to-last was a really nice guy whom I enjoyed so I, uh, *cough* wrote down his name... ya know, just to maybe look him up on Facebook later?
Did that, turned out we have 1 mutual friend: my brother-in-law Ben. Hahahahahaha. Ben happened to be sitting in the living room when I saw that, so I asked him about the guy; turns out they were roommates, hahahaha.

Yeah, I'd rather work where no one knows me or any of my siblings nor their friends.

After my energy-depleting Saturday at work I dragged myself in the door and only had a few minutes before about ten friends showed up to watch Finding Nemo and have sushi (Come on, that is FUNNY.) ...we also had pizza, as not everyone there was into sushi.
Fabulous ending to a horribly tiring day. :)

naked lightsaber battle

Marty the Slurpee Man

----------

Susannah: "Ba dun dun dun bada dun ba du ba dun dun dun badun dun..."
Meridith: "Could you...not?"
Susannah: "You don't like my banjo version of the Wicked soundtrack?"
Meridith: "Haha, no. But the real question is: did you realize you were doing that?"
Susannah: "Hahaha, nope."

----------

Susannah: "Yes...yes it is. Why yes it is. Yes. Why yes it is."
Meridith: < stares wide-eyed >
Susannah: "Don't look at me like that! If you look at me like that I won't feel comfortable being weird with ANYONE!

----------
Honeyman: "You are a dork. A funny cute dork."

----------

Honeyman: "On a first date you have to be...more girly. I mean, you're capable and like guy things, which is cool, its one of the things that makes you the perfect girl, but you need to tone that down at first. You're kind of...I don't want to say a 'manly girl' but..."
Susannah: "Thats ok. I'm a manly girl. I'm OK with that."
Honeyman: "No graphic tee shirts for at least 3 dates."
Susannah: "Hahaha, ok, deal. So skirt and heels?"
Honeyman: "Yes. Definitely heels."
Susannah: "...what if its skirt, heels, and graphic tee shirt? hehehe."
Honeyman: "No."
Susannah: "Come on!"

----------

Susannah: "I haven't been on a date in like four years!"
Meridith: "...with a guy."
Susannah: "HAHAHAHAHAAAHAHAHHAHAAHAHHAHA, touché. But I didn't know I was dating the lesbian until she told me The Rock was the only man she'd go straight for."

----------

Susannah: "DON'T CHUCK MARTY! ...ya jerk."

----------

Honeyman: "Whats that rattling sound?"
Susannah: "Your mom."

----------

Honeyman: "They're two geeks. There is going to be a naked lightsaber battle at some point."

----------

Susannah: "In the movie [17 Again] Zac Efron and Thomas Lennon get in a lightsaber battle with a master replicas force fx lightsaber. I want that!"
Honeyman: "What?"
Susannah: "I want a master replicas force fx lightsaber! They are like $90 to $180 depending on where you get it."
Jessica: "Whats a lifesaver?"
Susannah: "That pains me."

----------

Susannah: "I want one. The red one. Just so you know: I want one."
Honeyman: "No."
Susannah: "Come on."
Honeyman: "No."
Susannah: "I'm just throwing it out there: I want one."

----------

< phone rings >
Susannah: "Hey!"
Sarah: "Hey."
Susannah: "So guess who I just got a call from...oh wait, sorry, you called me. I shouldn't just start talking."
Sarah: "I just read this article...the president of Iran says his country is racist."
Susannah: "... ? ...Was that the reason for the call?"
Sarah: "What? No."
Susannah: "Oh, ok. Bwahahaha"

----------

Brady: "You seem so happy and have a lightness about you and you have a spring in your step that you haven't had before and it makes me so happy to see you that way."
Susannah: "Oh."

----------

< whispering during church >
Susannah: "I cut myself shaving! Look at this..."
Susannah: < throws leg over Ryans lap >
Susannah: "Can you see all those little cuts?"
Honeyman: "Uh...yeah."
Susannah: "Oh. Was that inappropriate?"

Wish you knew how much I loved your legs and your hair; leggy blonde goodbye

My baby sister is getting squished by the pressure of the bubble. And I have to remind her that not everyone has to be married by the time they are 21. (Although I am registered at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond.)

She has ignored my advice of creating awkward quasifriendships with guys online, and has chosen to date instead. Weirdo.
I can hardly handle a relationship with myself, letalone another person, sheesh. So I'm starting a list for Mer entitled Why I Am Better Off Single:

1. Last night I slept across my bed, so I could see my TV better.
2. Because I was watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze.
3. While eating Corn Pops. For dinner.
4. I've created pathways so I can walk around my bedroom without stepping on things.
5. I hate people touching my stuff. Ever.
6. I can justify just about any purchase. Especially pajamas, workout clothes, and white boards.
7. I can't save money for more than a week. Ok, a day.
8. I clean out my hard drive more often than my bathtub.
9. I consider Triscuits and smoked gouda cheese a suitable meal.
10. A few months ago I chose a $50 curling iron over groceries.
11. I put pink and orange dots all over one wall in my bedroom. Just for fun. And one side of the wall has more dots than the other.
12. I fall asleep with the TV on every single night.
13. I change my hair color/length on a whim and refuse to listen to anyone else tell me how they want my hair to be.

So pretty much, I rock at being single.

The Adventure of Paul on the Floor

I went on an adventure yesterday. The aptly titled "The Adventure to the Police Station." Where I met My Policeman Boyfriend, also known as Officer Yes, Please!

I now have a police report that I have to keep in George's glove compartment in case I get pulled over (in lieu of rushing to get a new driver's license.) Officer Yes, Please! says that unless the cop is a ........ (he couldn't come up with a word) he will let me off with no problems; but if the cop is a ............. (I offered jerk? he agreed) and does give me a ticket then any judge will throw it out.

So that's a relief. My hair is far too gold right now for me to get a new drivers license picture. And yeah, I'm actually serious. I really liked my long dark hair in my picture. :(

The White Gumball

Geof is one of the highlights of my Sunday nights...

Moisture is the essence of wetness, and wetness is the essence of beauty

Do you know how hard it is to Google-stalk someone when you only know them as "My Nextel Boyfriend"? I do.

Oh, oh, oh, I have never mentioned My Water Boyfriend! Unfortunately MWB has a mustacheless goatee. Which is pretty much my least favorite facial hair. (Not to be confused with my least favorite lack of facial hair, which would be sideburnless men. ala Nic Cage in National Treasure 2.)

On my second day of work the big truck pulled up and My Water Boyfriend walked in. He said, "Hey" as he walked past, into the back room. As he walked past once again, this time with an empty water jug over his shoulder, he said, "Have a good one." And I mumbled something back at him.

This little dance of ours has repeated monthly.

Yesterday I was doing some paperwork at the front counter when the big truck pulled up. My Water Boyfriend walked in, I looked up, and he said "Hey" and went into the back room. He came back out and before I could even look up he said, "You're awesome; you drank two entire jugs!" This struck me as funny, because A) everything does. B) I think this is a great conversation starter statement, and would like to put it into practice. C) It just is. I laughed and said, "Yeah, that was all me." and then I winked. I winked. Have I mentioned I winked? Am I wearing a leisure suit? Would you like to buy this used car?

WHOA

Usually celebrity deaths don't leave me open-mouthed. But tonight I was perusing MSN's homepage when suddenly I read:

ACTOR BRAD RENFRO DEAD AT 25

What?! Brad?! Brad Renfro and I share a birthday of July 25th (but he is two years older.)

Brad Renfro is one of those guys who was a consistent face on my wall of posters. I have always really enjoyed him.

You probably know him as that little kid, Mark, in the Susan Sarandon/Tommy Lee Jones thriller "The Client"

Dang...That threw a damper on my whole evening.

The Secret Life Of...

Well, this sucks.

My boyfriend is in Sandy, Utah, and I am stuck in Las Vegas!

Last week my sister, Deborah, called and said she had been watching a commercial for the Home & Garden show at the Expo Center (which starts today) and that George Duran would be appearing. HELLO!
I find out he is in Las Vegas the day he left and now I find he is in Utah on a weekend I can not drive up.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!

So, uh, someone please go to the Home & Garden show at the Southtowne Expo Center and uh, say Hi to George for me...or something.

Are you following me?

This afternoon I was driving on the freeway, on my way to the salon, when a familiar car pulled in front of me. It was Curly Mullet Michael, I kid you not.

Made me laugh right out loud.

"Are you going to kissy kissy Neiley Neiley?" - Emma to Meridith

Susannah: "Oh, Sabra was in that one? I was only watching Neil."
Elizabeth: "I was watching Neil's pants."
Susannah: "Bwahahaha!"
Elizabeth: "I like to watch Neil's pants dance."

"Neil is rawr. Short, skinny, 20, and slightly feminine? yes. But rawr." -Sus

the mooch factor is pretty high with this crowd

I am very easily entertained and usually I can watch anything on TV and be OK. I have watched the infommercial for The Magic Bullet, in its entirety, at least five times. I have even been known to pause on Telemundo when incredibly tired.

But tonights television programming is teh sux0rs!

I can't even pay attention to this episode of Stargate SG-1 (though lets be honest, its enjoyability factor declined with the exit of Corin Nemec's character.)
---
I went to bed way too late last night, so I wasn't surprised when I woke up and saw the sun was pouring in my room. I was, however, a bit startled to find out it was 3 p.m.

So I haven't even been up for twelve hours yet so I am far from sleepy. If I had any money and it wasn't 2 a.m., I'd go rent a movie. But alas, my distraction choices are limited right now. So I'm chatting with Tashina and watching Species on TV and listening to Alfred Molina's rawr British accent.

Susannah: Do you know who I find strangely attracitve?
Tashina: who?
Susannah: Alfred Molina.
Tashina: ah
Susannah: I enjoy strong noses, I've decided,
Tashina: haha
Susannah: Like Steve Coogan. I make my nieces watch Night at the Museum just to rewind him say "It's Octavius, Mary."
Susannah: oh, funny. both of those men have played a character named Octavius.
Tashina: hahahahahaha
Susannah: Yesterday I was at Target with Elizabeth and I held up Hot Fuzz and 300 and said, "Wanna know something funny? I find all three of these men equally attractive." bwa ha ha
Tashina: all three?
Susannah: Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Gerry Butler
Tashina: hahaha
Tashina: nick frost?
Tashina: yes, he is rather delicious.

"When you don't update [for days] I want to send Gil [Grissom] to your house." -Elizabeth

Friday was a lot of fun. In the morning I went on a date with Luke, by which I mean I went out to breakfast with my sister and her 2-year-old son, haha.
We stopped in Bed Bath & Beyond, where I had to get a gift for a wedding I'm going to this weekend. (This acquaintance registered at BB&B and Tiffany & Co.! Sweet honk, I want to register at Tiffany & Co.!) She registered for 12 settings of a $80+ couture place setting (for those playing along at home: that is $960+ before tax [7.75%]) suffice it to say I got her the $12 breakfast tray.

Luke and I found a GIGANTIC universal remote that I thought would be hysterical to get for my mom. So we took pictures.

Elizabeth bought a Nintendo Wii on Friday afternoon. WOOHOO! She said "Let's not tell Daddy and surprise him." Which means she told him on the phone in the parking lot; typical, hahaha.

Then Elizabeth, Emma Kate, and I laid on Liz's squishy couch and watched The Queen (which is a great movie with a GORGEOUS score) until I had to leave for work.

Two crappy things about Friday were the temperature and the traffic. 20 MPH on the freeway in 120 degree heat. Eek.
Susannah "Everytime I go to Wal-Mart at night I get hit on repeatedly, haha."
Elizabeth "Why don't you turn these into dates? Because you don't speak Spanish?"
Susannah: "HAHAHAHAHA!"
...
Susannah: "And while he was scanning my things, he picked up the lipgloss and eyeliner and looked at them and then at me and said, 'Makeup? You know, you don't need any makeup ...though I bet a lot of men have already told you that.' Hahaha. Oh my!"
Elizabeth: "How are you going to find someone to marry when you treat guys like this?"
Susannah: "Haha, I guess it's about persistence." ;)
Elizabeth: "You want someone who stalks you like you stalk them!"
Susannah: "Hahahaha!"

At breakfast

Ginormous remote for Grandma

120 degrees at 3:44 pm, on the way to work

102 degrees at 10:00 pm, on the way home from work

My hair is FREAKING AWESOME right now, and yet it is 2:30 a.m. and I have nowhere to go. So instead I am watching Coneheads and reveling in my hair.
No picture can correctly display how much I love what I did to my hair today. So I tried to video it. It still doesn't portray the actual awesomeness that is my hair. My bangs are HUGE, yet they sweep up and wave over--like a throwback to Old Hollywood. And I love any hairdo that actually shows my magenta hair.

Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation

Susannah: "Hey, Dad, do you have Phantom of the Opera on DVD?"
Dad: "Umm, I'm not sure. Why?"
Susannah: "Oh, because I want to see Gerry Butler in it."
Dad: "Oh, is he in that?"
Susannah: "He is the Phantom."
Dad: "Is that your new boyfriend Gerry you've been talking about going to the movies?"
Susannah: "YEP!"
Dad: "Until he is buying the popcorn at the movie I'm not going to get excited."
Susannah: "Hahaha!"

---

Susannah: "Hey, Meridith, it's Susannah. Uh, just wanted to say good morning and uh... does the Phantom sing Music of the Night? K, see ya later."

---

Meridith: "Hey, Susannah. Sorry I was at work and couldn't answer my phone. Good morning. Yeah, it's the Phantom...it's pretty steamy."

---

Susannah: "Thanks for calling me back. Yeah, I was ummm...listening to Music of the Night on my way to work and I wasn't sure if it was my boyfriend Gerry or not."
Meridith: "Yeah, it's him. You've still got to see that. It's a pretty sensual movie."
Susannah: "It's gorgeous... and he's completely rawr."
Meridith: (singing) "Touch me, trust me, savour each sensation..."
Susannah: "I know! It's like Hush up, Gerry, I'm trying to drive!"
Meridith: "Hahaha."

Susannah: "He went to law school, too. And he's completely rawr."
Meridith: "I read that about him. He's not really that cute, though."
Susannah: "Google image search him."
Meridith: "Nah."
Susannah: "Come on. Go to images.google.com and type in Gerard Butler."
Meridith: "I know how to do an image search."
Susannah: "Then do it! Come on!"
Meridith: "I know what he looks like."
Susannah: "Oh come on, just do it. G-E-R-A-R-D.
Meridith: "I'll do it later."
Susannah: "Do it while I'm talking to you."
Meridith: "Why?"
Susannah: "Haha, 'cause I want you to."
Meridith: "Fine."
Susannah: "And I love his laugh."
Meridith: "I guess we'll go to YouTube."
...
Meridith: "Ok, he is pretty rawr."
Susannah: "Yep."

"How does hanging out with you help my love life?"

In a contest of the coolest friends I'm pretty sure mine would win. Putting up with my personality is no easy feat.

I live in a place where noone really knows how to deal with me. I'm not so much an odd duck as just different than the people around me. I sit silently and people think I'm angry. I'm not at all angry, I just can't add anything to the conversation of whether or not you should take off your nicotine patch before you have a cigarette, and whether you should take something for the accompanying headache before or after the cigarette-while-on-the-patch.

During this trip I just wanted to see my friends and family. I didn't really get to see any of my family but my parents and Meridith, but I did get to see a lot of my friends.

Saturday morning I drove to Salt Lake with Reba. We met Nikki up there and got to hang out with her for the first time in years, and got to meet her husband, Rob. Then I got to meet Sariah, which was a lot of fun.
After dropping Reba off I went to a concert my dad was playing, which I mostly slept through (Oops!)

Sunday I felt horrible all day long and after my hour long jaunt to church I laid on the couch nearly the entire day. Much better. The Honeyman came over late that night and watched Some Like It Hot with me. (He had never seen anything with Marilyn Monroe, and I wanted him to love her, hahaha.)

Monday I felt icky again, and slept in until Noon. :) Late in the afternoon I went shopping with Sarah and got to see her apartment. She made salsa and had a horrible onion-in-the-eye experience...poor thing. "Pour milk in your eye!" "THIS IS NOT A STALL TACTIC!"
Right after she dropped me off at home I went down to Mimi's Cafe, where Tyler was waiting for me. I was two hours late, haha, oops! We chatted and had dessert; which was a lot of fun.
The Honeyman came by and he and I went up to West Valley to visit with Brittany, whom I had not seen since her wedding two years ago. Her daughter, Jaycee, looks exactly like her!

Tuesday morning I was ill...again. Different kind of sick this time, though. I had to miss my lunch date with Ellie in Salt Lake, which I felt terrible about. I just couldn't drive up there like that. But she is coming down to Las Vegas in a few weeks, so I'll get to hang out with her then.
I had left some things in Sarah's car on Monday night so I went down to BYU campus to meet Sarah by her car. Hilarious! She had heard that if you push the unlock button on your keys while holding it up to a phone the phone on the other end can unlock the car, if held near it. Uhhh...k, hahaha. We decided to try it, hahahahaha. So basically I stood in a parking lot at BYU holding my cell phone up to her car door and yelled, "Are you pushing the button?" Hahaha. Oh man, that was funny. (p.s., it didn't work, hahahaha.)

I went with my dad to drop off George to get his "new specs", haha. After he got all windshield-ed up, I drove back home and quickly realized I was locked out. I went down to the office and got a house key from my mom. I ended up back at my house just after 5 o'clock, which is when some of my friends were coming over! Eek!

Troy and his wife Liza rang the doorbell just as I was plugging in my curling iron (oops! And straight hair again today!) I hadn't hung out with Troy since probably our sophomore year of high school. We've been friends since seventh grade. It was great to see him, and his wife seems really fun. She suggested they have me over for dinner next time I'm up--it's such a weird feeling to have my friends all married off and living real lives, haha.

Jason showed up quickly after Troy and Liza. I hadn't seen Jason since about 2004, I think. It was really great to have him over again. He said he missed my Halloween parties, haha, I said I missed throwing them! I played some Flight of the Conchords for Jason and got to hear that laugh of his that I love.
Soon ZackyZack arrived! Zack and Liza work together, so that was fun to have someone there that she knew. Zack is one of the few people I saw when I was up at Christmas time. :)

Troy and Liza had to leave pretty early, but soon after they left Emily arrived. I had not seen Emily since our last day of high school. (5 years ago...whoa.) And I had not actually hung out with her since...ummm...the 90's? It was quite a while ago. It was so great to see her! She has always been one of my favorite people. A few weeks ago I was going through some things in my extra bedroom and I saw my jewelry box. I opened it and right on top was my half the "Best Friends" necklace Emily gave me in 5th grade. (Which is Grade 5, Tashina ;) ) I found a chain for it and wore it all day, chuckling to myself each time I thought of it.

Emily couldn't stay for long, but she was so much fun for the time she was here! Jason, Zack, Emily, and I sat around the table on the back deck and talked and laughed hard. Right after Emily left Jason had to leave, too. :(

So ZackyZack and I played on YouTube for a few minutes until Nikki and her hubby Rob arrived. Nikki has not changed one iota since she was 15. Ok, well...except for that whole being 8.5 months pregnant thing. She is absolutely hilarious.
The Honeyman got there pretty soon after that and then Tyler came and we all hung out on the back deck for quite a while. Nikki brought along her dog, Daisy. Oh heavens, that dog is hilarious.

After the sun went down Zack left and Nikki, Rob, Tyler, Ryan, and I all went into the house. They played a few rounds of pool, which were absolutely hysterical. There was a point where I had tears streaming down my cheeks from laughing so hard.
ZackyZack came back and we all sat around talking and laughing and taunting Daisy. Soooo funny. I have not laughed so hard in quite a few months.

Around 10:30 Nikki, Rob, and Daisy left. So Ryan, Tyler, Zack, and I all went into the uh...office? home theater room? large room with the big screen TV and couch in it? Hahaha. We watched a bit of "Hooked On Aerobics", hahaha, which we all remembered as being on TV when we were little. I proclaimed to the guys that hanging out with them was doing nothing for my social life, hahaha. I said, pointing from one to the other, "HAVE A GIRLFRIEND! STRICTLY PLATONIC! GAY! How does hanging out with you help my love life? I'm almost 23! We need a new guy in the mix!!!" Hahaha. They suggested MyExBoyfriendMike, hahaha... I said, "Yeah, a twice divorced 40-year-old NonMormon...there ya go."
Tyler and Zack had never seen Some Like It Hot, so we decided to watch it. :) Ryan fell asleep on the floor, and I nearly fell asleep as well. It ended at 1 a.m., and the guys left soon thereafter.

I took a LOT of pictures...I'll post 'em after I get back to Las Vegas. It is past 3 a.m. and I have spent FAR TOO MUCH TIME playing on Photobooth already this morning. Eek!

"What time is it? Crack smoking time!" -J

Today is my last day at the office. The question was asked (by many people) what was going to happen with my relationship with MyExBoyfriend now that I won't be here?! I haven't decided yet. The same was asked when he switched buildings (thank heavens he came back to this one, because that was a boring couple of months) and I said that as long as I knew his full name and had access to the county assessors website (stalker, stalker, stalker) the relationship wouldn't end. Bwahaha. (It's a joke, gosh. I have no desire to actually stalk someone. That would involve nice high powered binoculars and I can't afford those right now. I KID, I KID!)

Kandy called my extension and told me she needed some help on the newsletter I created, which she was printing for me. She asked me to come into her office, so I could show her what to do. I quickly jumped up from my desk and jetted down the hall to Kandy's office.

The door was open, so I walked in. Kandy's office was empty, so I wandered next door to Julie's office. Her door was half-open, so I peeked my head in. (I just thought of the past tense of "peek" as "puck", hahaha) Julie was sitting at her desk and she said, "Come on in." so I opened the door and there stood Kandy next to two balloons, a vase with two gorgeous daisies, and a cake. SO CUTE!

So we chatted and had cake and Julie gave me strict instructions to not make her cry, haha.

I'm leaving for Utah in a few minutes. THWEEEEEEEEET!

"The pirate jokes will be prevalent."

I am SO EXCITED for this weekend. Do I have big plans? Nope, but that is exactly my reason. I've been on autopilot this entire week. Just going through the motions, waiting for the week to end.
I was asked "Are you OK?" so many times each day, hahaha. I am OK, it has just been a loooong week, and I need a few days to myself. :)

It started with Sunday afternoon, while I was blowing up balloons (for my moms bday party lunch) and one of them popped and hit my right eyeball. I have never had an eye pain like that before, and I hope to never have it again. I wore a band-aid eye patch all night, Arrrrrrrrrrgh! My eye was still aching the next morning, when I woke up sick at 3 a.m. After throwing up twice I finally fell back to sleep near 6 a.m.
On Friday and Monday every time I tried to talk to Irma she was distracted and ignoring and told me, "I have a lot to do, so I have to stay focused." so I just stopped trying. Apparently that created some crazy drama in the office that I wasn't expecting. We haven't spoken all week, which is fine with me. No big deal, whatever. But apparently I'm this big jerk who hates everyone; at least thats the gossip. Oh heavens.
After a microdermabrasion on Thursday I was asked, "So, Susannah, do you just have cystic acne?" by the same girl who recommending the cover up makeup created for birthmarks and tattoos. What the?! I replied, "Ummm, No. These are scars I haven't seen since 9th grade." Only a person with absolutely flawless skin all their life would ever say something like that. Have you ever had a microdermabrasion? It brings out ANY FLAW in your skin. I nearly saw freckles, though I've never had facial freckles in my life.

I have a job interview on Monday. That one phone call tonight alleviated a lot of the stress that I had all week. I'm not sure whats gonna happen in the coming weeks, but thats OK.
I want to go home to Orem next week for a few days. I just need a BREAK. I need to hang out with my family and see my friends. I don't know when I'll be able to go up there this summer otherwise.

Twice this week MyExBoyfriend and I left the office at the same time (completely coincidental, honestly) and were both going in the same direction, so we were driving side by side for about five minutes both days. It made me laugh.

This morning I planned a date for myself and ordered pizza online to be delivered to me an hour after I got home from work. Hahahaha. (Don't worry, Mom, I budgeted it...under "groceries", haha) I became thoroughly embarassed at having a pizza delivered to me, just for me. So I turned on a bunch of lights in my house and turned on music (laughing so hard the entire time) so I seemed a bit more like a hostess whose party guests are delayed in their arrival rather than a goofy chick whose night plans included lying in bed all night while watching Casino Royale and Stranger Than Fiction. I ended up falling asleep at about 7:30 and woke up near 1 a.m., unable to fall back to sleep. (That would be why I'm hanging around here at 3 in the blasted morning.)

I took Caroline and Emma Kate to see Meet The Robinsons: 3D last week. It was so fun. We stopped by McDonalds on the way there, but Miss Emma Katie was very adamant that she did not want to sneak her McNuggets into the theater. She asked, "Auntie, you are not supposed to sneak it in, right? So I don't want to. I'll just eat them in the car right now." It was so cute, but made me feel slightly guilty. Only slightly, as I realized the girls would still want popcorn and soda and all that...they'll get all my money either way.

"I'm going to wander aimlessly; I'll take my usual route." -Lillith on Cheers

It is really sad how many times I have checked my email today. Especially considering the only email I've received in the last two hours was from a website I joined a few months ago, reminding me to keep track of my calories today. EVEN MY COMPUTER HAS TURNED AGAINST MY BOYFRIEND, TWINKIE. YOU CAN NOT STOP TRUE LOVE, LORD CHICKEN BREAST!

My various well-beings update:

Health-wise: Eh, no complaints. (Which really means: everyone around me is sick of hearing me complain.) No sicknesses yet this week, but I did sneeze this morning and have yet to determine whether a cold is approaching or my sinuses are now recognizing my lack of dusting habit.
Also, my heart pain went away for a while. But made an appearance again last night, while I was thinking about running on the treadmill. I sense a correlation.
Also, I think I may have a bit of an oncoming toothache. Time to switch chewing sides!

Job-wise: I asked Leslie if she knew of anyone hiring. I told her to especially look for those seeking my qualifications of determined procrastination and unparalleled disorganization. We'll see how that turns out.

Social-wise: Yesterday, during a pedicure, I was told I have "Flinstone's feet" and it was suggested that I could walk on hot rocks without pain. I nearly told the girl what exactly I felt she could do, though it would probably involve quite a bit of pain.
Also, after a microdermabrasion, I was told I should buy a type of foundation makeup created by MAC to cover major pigment alterations and tattoos. For my face. I unintentionally glared at the woman. She replied, "I mean, it's just a suggestion. Just something you should look into." Basically, I still hate everyone around me and they apparently still hate me.

George-wise: I still do not have a back windshield. Why? Because it costs $400 to replace it. After getting a quote over the phone, I told the man I would have to call him back after I talked to my benefactor; rather than telling him, "Sir, I go through three pairs of shoes a day and at least two shirts. You can't expect me to commit to you so quickly."

Family-wise: My mom is in town because of Ezra's birth yesterday. I'm probably going to hang out with her and Elizabeths family today and head up to Mesquite to see my new tiny nephew and the rest of Deborah's family tomorrow. If I didn't have family around here my head would implode...probably.

Roommate-wise: She is convinced I am completely avoiding her. About time she realized that! (I kid, I kid.) She knocked on my door last night, but I was beyond exhausted and couldn't convince myself to roll off the remote control jabbing in my side, no matter how much I bribed. There was no way I could have answered my bedroom door. Later she yelled at my door, "I was just outside and there is a light on in your car!" I didn't respond because that would have taken more energy than I would have for about six more hours. Also, I knew which light it was and I knew that, if left on too long, it turns itself off automatically. (And I knew that it wasn't a commercial break and I didn't want to miss any of the awkwardness of the episode of Blind Date I was half-conciously listening to.)
Then she left me a note demanding to know why I wanted her to pay an entire bill instead of our usual split, including "WE NEED TO TALK!" Oh gag. If she had been smart, she would have understood the note I initially left her, you know...the one telling her that I overpaid by $28 last month (forgot to split it), so my entire split this month is actually already taken care of...oh yeah, that one! she would have realized that I wasn't actually demanding her to pay anything for me and that I think she needs to SETTLE THE HECK DOWN and realize that I only have 8 total hours home INCLUDING SLEEP and that if I don't beg to know what kind of educational future she has screwed up for one of her students today, it doesn't mean I am avoiding her. It means I am tired, leave me alone.

ExBoyfriend-wise:
Sus: I saw my exboyfriend twice today and I have yet to get a wink. I haven’t gotten a wink from him in months. Have you? You probably have. You get more winks than me…and I’m starting to going to have to hate you for it.
Irma: I got a wink today
Sus: Today?!
Irma: Yeah.
Sus: Its probably because I stare at the ground when I walk by him.
Irma: Yeah.
Sus: Do you say Hi?
Irma: He walked by and looked in and I looked up and he winked and I waved.
Sus: I do this {stares at the ground}
Irma: Well yeah; for all you know he’s been blowing you kisses.

Otherwise: I've gained four pounds, though yesterday Julie asked me if I was wearing one of my "really good sucker-inner things" I wasn't.
Also, I have made a new decision that I'm not cutting out soda for my mother, my dentist, or my checkbook. But rather because I decided it makes me feel completely icky. And I now keep a gallon of water near my desk. So I'm not going to feel guilty nor beat myself up over a sporadic 32 ouncer, but rather just be prepared for the amount of complaining I will be doing.
