Abesannah

I would rather spend my time with my nieces and nephews than my friends.

I'd rather go on an "Auntie Date" (when I take one of them out, typically to a movie or shopping) than do the same activity with a friend.

Maybe it is a crazy mix of my need for power and my love language of gift giving, hahaha. We are going to go where I want, but let me buy you stuff while we are there.

A couple of weeks ago my brother and sister-in-law went to Maui and I got to stay with their kids while they were gone.

-----

3yo Grace: "I hit flies with a spoon else they will fly outside to their homes. They live in bee flowers."

-----

Sus: "Lex, are you 9?"
Lexi: "No, why?"
Sus: "How old are you?"
Lexi: "9."
Sus: "Haha, that is what I asked."
Lexi: "Oh, I thought you said 'are you gnawing?'"
Sus: "Bahahahahahahaha!"

-----

Sus: "…but I enjoy bearded men."
Lexi: "You do."
Sus: "You know who has a great beard? Your mom's cousin."
Lexi: "Kai. Yeah."
Sus: "It's a shame he just got married."
Lexi: "It'd be weird if my aunt and cousin got married."

-----

Sus: "Oh crappity crap crap!" (while spilling my drink)
Alexa: "Hahahahaha"
Sus: "Sorry! Sorry, Lex! Sometimes I say naughty things without realizing."
Alexa: "I've learned that."

-----

Alexa: "It's big and it's Gareth!"
Sus & Soph: "JARETH!"

-----

Sus: "Hey sweetie, where is your underwear?"
Grace: "It's a surprise."

-----

Grace, falling asleep in bed: "Abesannah [Aunt Susannah], you are awesome. You are awesome, Abesannah. I'm going to come give you five!" (gets out of bed, runs over and gives me five before quickly jumping back into bed)

-----

3yo Grace, playing with cups in the bath: "Here is some apple juice and creamy creamy creamy pie and a full lemonade and really really salt. Lots more salt. Here is some lemonade and salt. Want some pretzels to put in your juice? Oh! Let me get you some salt! I'll give you more grape juice but drink it SLOOOOOOOWLY."
Sus: "Can I have a Mtn Dew?"
Grace: "No, but I'll get you more salt.
