Silverdale Chances

This evening I was witness to an uncomfortable situation.

A young woman walked in the room with a bouquet of strawberries from Edible Arrangements. She walked up to a woman named Lynn, who was on the phone. The woman put the bouquet on the table in front of Lynn and when Lynn saw it her face brightened and her eyes opened wide. As her phone conversation was drawing to a close Lynn reached for and plucked a strawberry from the bunch.

As she hung up the phone Lynn exclaimed, "Oh, thank you!" and bit into the strawberry in her hand. The woman gently pushed the bouquet closer to Lynn and asked, "Would you like another one? My husband surprised me with it." Quickly Lynn's face froze, then dropped a tiny bit. She said, "That was so sweet of him."
