now I'm wishin' that I didn't wear these shoes/it's like everytime I get up on the dew/paparazzi put my business in the news

A few weeks ago I wasn't invited to a party. That isn't a new concept, as I have never been the most social person, but this time it was different. This was my Grandmother's birthday party that my mother was hosting.

This is one of the risks you run when living in a large communication-deprived family. I wasn't told about the party because it was assumed everyone knew about it. Also, I wasn't reminded of it because it was known that I couldn't attend (living 6 hours away and needing to be at work and all.) This is how everything is done in my family.

I didn't find out about my Grandma's party until a few days later, when my cousin emailed me pictures from it that she wanted me to post on the family blog. Uhhh...thanks guys.

I have 2 parents, 11 siblings, 8 nieces, 5 nephews, and one on the way. I need to be proactive if I am going to stay involved in this family!

The picture is of my mom, my uncle, my sister Elizabeth and my sister Meridith cooking for my Grandma's party at my mom's house. I cut Elizabeth's hair, isn't it awesome?!
