I thought my kicking him might be misread as interest

Sir! For the seventh time, NO.

This new 30-ish L/O of Jayar's needed to type up a letter this afternoon but he only had a few minutes before he had to leave. He asked me what I'd charge to type it up for him. I said I'd do it for free because I had a few minutes while I was waiting for a return phonecall and it wouldn't take me very long at all. I may have also agreed to do it because I felt bad for bursting out in laughter when I asked him what application he wanted to use for it and he said Windows 95. (Hahaha!)
He offered me money while I was doing the letter, I declined. He commented on the fact that I wasn't looking at my screen while I typed, I told him I've been typing all my life, I don't look at my hands (or my screen when I'm transcribing.) He went off about back when the internet was still in the beginning stages, blah blah blah, his college was linked to Perdue, blah blah blah, it took two hours to get an email then they had to decode it, blah blah blah.
He offered to buy me lunch, I declined. He again offered to buy me lunch, I declined. He AGAIN offered to buy me lunch, I AGAIN declined. Sir, I don't want you to pay for my lunch, OK?

Besides, my lunch is going to consist of a 64 oz.er of Diet Sprite and a box of buttered popcorn flavored Mike & Ike's.

It took me about four minutes to finish his entire letter, including formatting and editing the letterhead.

When I got off my lunch break he was in the office again. He said, "Oh, I was supposed to buy you lunch! I wasn't here, sorry. Next time." I said, "That's just fine, this is my entire lunch." and held up my 64 oz. cup.


My mother would tell me to 'be gracious.' I don't have to accept his offer to be gracious. I graciously declined. Now leave. me. alone.






Yeah, I'm not too good at that whole interpersonal communication thing.





I'm going to be single for a while.
