"I believe in a thing called looooooooooooove, Ooooooo"

Having finished decorating the basement I was left with the task of getting it now functional. I dug out all my pink dishes to add to the presentation of the food. I then finished baking the birthday cake. Ellie came over and together we picked songs f or the party's playlist on my iPod. I then picked up Amanda from work and we went shopping. I had to buy everything I'd forgotten about up until that point, including plastic cups and plastic cutlery. We rushed home from the store and Ellie and The Hon eyman came over.
We set up the tiki torches up the front walkway, set the table, and started to make a whole TON of food. Guests were arriving; I was fritzed. Good stress; I was happy, but stressful nonetheless. Amanda and Tyler were my complete lifesa vers, as they took over the food preparations for me and insisted I get dressed and ready. I never did actually get my hair done, but my mind was completely elsewhere.

I don't really know a lot of Ellie's friends, and didn't actually want to prance about to the blasting music, so I spent a good majority of the first half of the party upstairs, haha.


Oops, I meant to quickly come back here and finish but apparently it took me over twelve hours to return, haha.

Ok, so where was I? Oh yeah...upstairs, haha. Sarah, Amanda, Tyler, and some others were upstairs in the living room talking, so it was fun to be able to be near them and hear the conversation (Sarah and Tyler together are hilarious. And apart as well, of course.) Ellie, Danielle, and Honeyman demanded I join the party (hahaha) and after "harassing" Mikie for a while they declared I was not allowed near my computer for the rest of the night. (I'm incredibly submissive, perhaps to a fault.)

Right between 11:00 and 11:30 we got a big wave of more people; that was really fun. Sheila came, which I was glad about because I ne eded to talk to her and am too much of a wimp to call her. (I'm going to be her apprentice!!! Woohooo!!!! I'll post more about that another day.)

So I finally joined in the fun. I made it downstairs just in time to catch AJ's dance for Ellie, Hahaha ha. (I would SO post the pictures but I fear the repercussions from so many people.) Sarah and Meridith both immediately went upstairs when he started, haha. Too funny!

As midnight neared people started clearing out (that's what you get when most of your guests are still in their teens and have early curfews, haha), which was fine with me because I didn't know most of them anyway, hahahahahaa. Pretty soon it was just: Ellie, Danielle, Honeyman, Chris Money, A.J., Debbie, and myself left. Debbie had to leave soon after that, though, because her husband and kids kept calling her and telling her to come home, haha.

We had fun playing random games together for a few hours. AJ does THE FUNNIEST E.T. impression "Elliot" that includes a blanket and carpet-burn on his knees, hahaha. I unabashedly drank an entire 2 liter bottle of Diet Coke in a very short time--That pretty much got me wired for the rest of the night. Coke is my alcohol. After large consumptions most of my inhibitions fly out the nearest window.

Self, this is a reminder list of things to NOT BRING UP around people other than your sisters:
* Any and every "Chunky Cheerleading" routine
* The UBS Man impression
* WonderbraWoman
* "So, how high can you ki ck?"

...and so many others...

After a few hours, a lot of laughter and some blackmail-worthy moments: Ellie fell asleep around 5:15, Danielle around 5:45, and I fell asleep around 7:35. I was wakened at 7:50 by Meridith (I later couldn't rememb er if our conversation at that time had actually taken place or not, haha) and was very incoherent. I am told I said, "Ok, goodnight" repeatedly and something reminiscent of "I just don't know about that." Wow; don't ask me to make sense while I'm aslee p, haha.

Danielle left sometime between 8:30 and 9:50, hahaha. I looked at the clock after saying goodbye to her, but I just don't remember what it said. The phone rang at 9:50, and about every ten to fifteen minutes after that--there was no more sleep for me. (Less than two & half hours! No wonder I was biting Meridith's head off for stupid things later in the day.)


All in all the party was a success and I had a LOT of fun. ...but now I have piles upon piles of dishes to do.
