Larry

Another midnight showing, another night Susannah sits in a theater alone.

I do not like to dislike a movie. I rarely dislike any movies I've seen. I can really only think of a handful of movies I did not like (Hearts In Atlantis, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, Happy Feet). I am one of the most easily entertained people EVER. Some others walk out of a theater thinking, "I paid $10 to see that?" while I, on the other hand, can't wait to see it again. (For example: A Sound Of Thunder.)

So I'll say this: I liked Pirates of the Caribbean 3 as a movie, just not necessarily as a Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

That was my immediate reaction to it, while walking out of the theater. (alone. in heels. at 3 a.m. to my car, parked FOREVER away.)

Even though it is seven hours long, I will see it again. The acting is great, the story is great, it's a great movie. I just do not like it! Aaah, I make no sense.

I dunno, I guess to me Pirates (1 & 2) was such a nonsensical fluffy (funny 3-way sword fights) movie that I could watch with Caroline and Emma Kate without it being too freaky for them. However, 3 is so filled with intense violence (do we really need to see everyone being slowly murdered? Especially death-by-tentacle?! ick!) that I would never suggest I take the girls to it.

But in and of itself, I loved it. It's a great movie. ...just so freakin' violent.

One thing I LOVED about it was the score! Hello, gorgeous! I was about fifteen minutes late to the movie, so I watched about an hour of it before walking into the next showing to catch the part I missed. I had taken allergy medicine earlier in the evening, so I was incredibly drowsy. As the hour I'd already seen came onto the screen, I closed my eyes and just listened to the music until I fell asleep. (Don't fret, I woke up before I missed anything, haha.)

I'm pretty sick of going to these by myself. Harry Potter 5, anyone?

You know I'd be there for every movie, if only I lived in the same country...

We should arrange to go see Hairspray at the same time. That would be cool?
