"Oh, Husna, Oh don't you cry for me..."

My name is not weird! My name is NOT weird!!! You are weird!

I was telling my friend my email address and explained that it is "hsusana@companyname.com" rather than "susannah@companyname.com" because the girl who sets up the accounts can't spell my name. This friend said, "Well, that's because you have such a weird spelling of an interesting name." Huh?!

I said, "Uhh...it is a classic spelling of a classic name, but thanks." I explained that within 6 generations there are no less than 9 Susannah's on my family tree (mostly in the late 1700s and early to mid 1800s.) It's not such an "weird spelling" nor a "interesting name", PsychoHead. (i revert to childish namecalling whenever possible) I don't have an apostrophe nor multiple capitalizations, I just have a classic name with a freaking classic spelling.

I really can't understand why it is so hard for people to spell my name right after I've explained it to them. Really. You just don't care, do ya?

I have a little slip of paper I keep in the top drawer of my desk--it is entitled "Creative Spellings of the Month"--where I jot down the funky names that I get called.
it reads:
* SUSANNAHA
* SUSSAHNA
* HUSNA
* SUZZAHNA
* SUSHANNA

Susannah says:
The dude I was on the phone with earlier just sent me an email addressed to "Sushanna"
Susannah says:
after we went over my spelling twice.
Susannah says:
twice
Susannah says:
and he commented on the coolness of my ending in H
Susannah says:
Tasinah, what am I to do?!
Tashina says:
hahaha

I laughed so hard when I saw "Sussahna" on a fax cover sheet because next to it was scribbled "forgive me!" with an arrow.
