Last week I ordered some stuff online and it came last night. WOOHOOOOOOOO! My eyes were scouring the porch as I pulled in the driveway. Hidden behind a bush was a little brown box. YAY! I had barely gotten the key out of the ignition when I jumped out of the car and ran toward the porch. I picked up that box and ran into the house. After fighting with the tape I yanked out the air bag padding and got to the goods. Yay, yay, yay. I'm so excited. It is a Christmas present for Deborah; who knows if she'll like it. Probably, but I'm never sure.
I [heart] Christmas shopping. A lot. I've got things for Deborah, Meridith, Abigail, Elaine, Elizabeth, and Caroline so far. (obviously guys are more difficult for me) Super pumped! I've still got 18 family members to shop for and I haven't even started thinking about the list for my friends yet. Oh my!
I took Emma Kate with me last night to grab some soda and batteries, but we ended up spending about 2 hours at Wal-Mart. She is an absolute hoot. She pointed out things that she felt Luke would like--including a blue toaster. At one point we walked down the shoe aisle, so I could see if they had ANYTHING cute in size 11 (of course they don't. Blast me and my proportionately large feet.) I turned around and BUST UP laughing. Miss Emma Kathryne had picked out three pairs of shoes for herself--which where in a semi-circle around her--sat down, and was trying them each on. She then tried to convince me what a good idea it would be for me to buy them all for her for Christmas. (That was a reoccuring theme throughout the evening, haha.) Emmie said, "Auntie Susie, I love you to outer space, and that's farther than the sky." Emma Kate is such a sweetheart; at one point she was playing with the gift I got Caroline and I asked, "Emmie, remember how I asked you to leave it in the bag?" She got this really shocked look on her little face and said, "Oh! I did not hear you! I mean, I forgot you said that! But I will put it away right now." She is really fun to shop with. I need to take Caroline with me again soon, she's so fun to be with but I think Emma Katie might be a titch more fun to shop with--is that bad to say? Maybe that's just because I've never had Target employees suspecting me of kidnapping Emma. (I got followed for a few minutes the other day when Care was saying, loudly, that she would not come with me and running down the aisle. Haha. Good times, good times. [she wasn't mad at me, she was mad at Emma for not waiting for her in the restroom.])
...Oh, that demands I tell the rest of that little Emma Katie anecdote:
My cart was full of stuff when the girls needed to go into the restroom so I stood outside the door, waiting. After a few minutes I saw Emmie peek her head out the door. She slowly opened the door, stepped out, and held the door open. After a few seconds she stuck her head back in the door and said, "Uh-huh, Caroline." and then looked back at me with a HUGE grin on her face. She slowly closed the door and stood by my side. She said to me, "Shhh, Caroline thinks I am listening to her talk to me." Care was in there talking to herself!!! Thinking Emmie was still there! Emma is such a sneaky little thing. I could not stop laughing. She had such a mischevious little smirk on her face. She just turned five-years-old! She is so dang funny. Oh man...Hahaha.
