I spedpacked Friday morning, throwing clothes simultaneously in the suitcase and the closet. I got some odd outfits as a result. I carefully loaded the entire backseat full of presents, wiggling my suitcase in between. I left the house by 7:32 a.m. and headed off to the hubcap place.
I read three issues of Sports Illustrated, all over a year old, before getting the great news that they were able to fix my rim. If it had cracked during the bending process I would have had to pay about $300 for a new tire. Ugh. Instead I paid the $75 and went on my way.
I was on the road by 9:25 a.m. I had the all-Christmas-songs station playing until I got to Mesquite; I had gotten my fill of Dean Martin and Amy Grant by then. I turned on my "Susie's Faves" playlist on my iPod and sang along loudly.
I took the exit for Cedar City and swung by the Arby's, getting a chicken sandwich and jalapeño poppers. I am pretty sure I only got the sandwich to appease some sort of voice in my head telling me a box of jalapeño poppers is not a proper lunch, because I never touched it. In fact I'm pretty sure it is still in its bag, sitting on my backseat.
The drive was pretty uneventful, which is good. There were, however, three near-accidents--all caused by police suddenly flipping on their sirens/lights and crossing lanes--all in Arizona. I was annoyed at the dang police by the third one. I nearly hit the guy in front of me, who DID hit the guy in front of him, and the car behind me barely swerved in time.
I stopped in Beaver, UT to fill up with gas, although I was only half full (or half empty.) I pulled in front of my parents house in Orem at 3:30 p.m.

Oooo, Tashina left Canada by bus last night and she will be in to SLC tomorrow night. Then she, Courtney, The Honeyman, ZackyZack, and I are all headed to Vegas Thursday morning. I'm super pumped.

Susannah: Nope
Parker: They haven't arrived yet in here?
