"where's your prom date, senorita?"

We were in a booth in Mimi's Cafe, perusing the menus. Emma Kate was coloring on her menu with the crayons given to her by the waiter. She picked up what she thought was a brown crayon, because of its brownish paper. She can not read and didn't realize the dark colored crayon was named "red violet". She began to color the picture of a piece of cake, and when the color showed up purple rather than the anticipated brown she stared at the picture and suddenly proclaimed, "What the?!

I promised Caroline and Emma Kate that I would jump on the trampoline with them after they got their pajamas on. After bouncing them around like fish out of water for a while I plopped down on the tramp. The girls ran around the circle, encouraging me to try to trip them. Oh how I love a challenge. After bopping them good a few times I tried to be a little more stealth in my approach. I waited until the very last possible moment, until they were almost out of my reach, then I whacked their little feet out from under them--landing them flat on their backs.
At one point I was lying on my back as Emma ran around me, taunting me to trip her. I told her I would do it when she least expects it. She jumped around my head saying, "But I lease respect it right now, Auntie!"

Oh man, she is a hoot.
